Nine Eleven 2005

As I sit at my desk in my office over looking the lake, I reflected on this date, which has deep meaning for many and especially me.

Today, I honor and celebrate my mother’s birthday; it is also the fifth anniversary of her death. “How odd,” I said to myself, as I contemplated in silence how her passing was just a year before the horrible terrorist attack against our country. Then, with deep sadness and love, I decided to set aside an hour to honor her life, her wit, her courage and her love for humanity as a whole. My mother was a great philanthropist and humanitarian.

Then, the hour turned into many hours as I, also, celebrated the same attributes of courage, valor, honor and love to the survivors of the victims of 9/11. What tremendously courageous people we have in this country.

Many emotions ran through my mind today. After being hit by three hurricanes in Florida and barely escaping with my life just a year ago, I realized I was totally overcome with a deep sense of gratitude for the resilience and self-reliance that came from within me after dealing with so many adversities, and now, I celebrate the joy of BEING ALIVE!
As Nine Eleven moves slowly through the day in all its courage, I looked around to see the devastation of Hurricane Katrina in Mississippi and more specifically New Orleans, a city that more than once, stole my heart. There again, in the midst of the most horrible natural disaster and devastation generating incomprehensible human conditions, I see the resilient souls totally determine just like the Phoenix to rise from the ashes…and rise they will!

The moral of the story: Always fight back, no matter how down you are or others try to make you; stand in your own power; ask for help; hold your head high; and always have your own genuine pride as it will take you places you never knew existed. Always believe and trust in yourself and in the universe, as you will conquer the depth of your mind, your emotions, your strengths, your weaknesses… and you will become The Master of Your Own Destiny. Thus Creating and Designing the Path of the Journey you are about to choose to take!

Like the Phoenix, Always Rise…Above All Else!!!
